“Strike: Lethal White” Trailer Sets High Expectations for New Season

During these odd times, it’s always nice to have something new to watch, and Strike: Lethal White is arriving just in time. The show is set to premiere on August 30 on BBC One, and the trailer just dropped, which is sure to get you even more excited for the end of August. So mark your calendar and have some popcorn ready, because this is sure to be another exciting season.

Strike: Lethal White is based on the fourth book in the Cormoran Strike series written by J.K. Rowling under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith and will see cast members Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger return as Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott. This season will have four episodes instead of the usual three, which is a welcome addition given the fact that a lot of us are still spending most of our time at home these days.

The plot for the new season is filled with mystery and murder. It kicks off with Strike receiving a disturbing visit from a young man named Billy Knight, who claims he witnessed the murder of a child several years ago. From here onward, it only gets more intense – the government minister hires Strike to investigate Jimmy Knight, who is also Billy’s brother. This puts Strike in a bit of a predicament since Jimmy also happens to be blackmailing him. While Strike tries to keep his head amid the chaos, Robin goes undercover at the Houses of Parliament.

According to Burke, the new season pretty much picks up where the previous one left off and is going to be jam-packed with action.

In the book, the first murder doesn’t occur until about 200 pages in, but there’s an awful lot of other stuff going on.

There’s a cold case that is alluded to. In fact, it was never a case; there’s a murder that is alleged to have happened, and they’re trying to get to the bottom of it. In a very noir-ish way, two different cases start to overlap each other. It’s also set in the world of politics.

The trailer, which is a mere 37 seconds, gives us just enough information to know that this season might be the best one yet. If Strike getting attacked by a butter knife is anything to go by, the upcoming episodes will be filled with unexpected encounters and near misses. You can watch the trailer below.

Growing up, I was a massive fan of Harry Potter and my love for the stories grew as I got older. It’s no surprise then that I love writing about all things Potter related. When I’m not writing about all the magic, you’ll find me reading (probably something Harry Potter related), listening to music, or writing some songs.
