For One Knight Only – Conversations with British Acting Legends Hosted by Sir Kenneth Branagh

With 2020 continuing to bring changes to our world, one of the fun times people are missing out on is the theater and the excitement that comes along with it. To bring some joy to our lives, Sir Kenneth Branagh (Gilderoy Lockhart) will be hosting an event presented by Lockdown Theatre in association with Acting for Others, a theatrical charity that provides emotional and financial assistance to theater workers, and featuring a panel of experts in the field.

This event is dubbed For One Knight Only, and it will take place over Zoom on November 29. It will be an evening of conversations with British acting legends, including Dame Maggie Smith, whom we have come to love as Professor Minerva McGonagall in the Harry Potter films. She isn’t the only legend who will be present that night: Dame Judi Dench (M in Daniel Craig’s James Bond tetralogy, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel), Sir Derek Jacobi (Gladiator, Underworld: Evolution), and Sir Ian McKellan (Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies, Magneto in the X-Men series) will all be on the panel as well.

Lockdown Theatre producer Rob Grant feels this is an excellent move for the organization at this time.

In this climate, it sounded like a truly worthy cause, and we decided to mount future productions entirely for the benefit of the charity and via them, the performing arts industry, which is suffering so hideously from the restrictions on live entertainment, with no clear end in sight. We enjoy putting the shows on, the cast enjoy performing them, and the audiences enjoy watching. It’s a three-way win.

For additional information and to purchase tickets for this event, visit the official site. This will certainly be a night filled with engaging conversation, and who doesn’t want a chance to learn some tips from these legends? Will you be purchasing a ticket to benefit this cause and learn from the best? Let us know!
