Social Media Roundup: Welcome to 2021!

Welcome back! It is time once again to check in and see what some of the Wizarding World stars have been up to in the latest edition, and first of 2021, of MuggleNet’s Social Media Roundup! During the first two weeks of January, there were New Year messages with hopes for a better year, interesting and fun podcast episodes, new family members welcomed, and health scares.

After the troublesome year that 2020 was, Harry Potter actor Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy) acknowledged those struggles. This coming year will be difficult, but remember to wear your masks, look for gratitude, and do what you can to make things better.

Raising his glass, Ron Perlman (Gnarlak) looked forward to better things in the new year.

Pointing out that 2021 is the product of two prime numbers, Stephen Fry rang in the new year.

Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) reminded fans to smile.

Chris Rankin (Percy Weasley) wished everyone a happy, healthy New Year.

… as did Dan Fogler (Jacob Kowalski).

Devon Murray (Seamus Finnigan) and his partner, Shannon, celebrated the birth of their son, Cooper. Welcome to the world, little one. We wish their family all the best.

Jessie Cave (Lavender Brown) and her son are now home from the hospital after her few-week-old son tested positive for COVID-19. We are all happy to hear that he is home and on the mend.

Also getting better after spending some time in the hospital was Samantha Morton (Mary Lou Barebone). In her post, she thanked the hospital staff and fans for their well-wishes.

Oliver Phelps (George Weasley) thanked front-line workers for all they have done since the pandemic has worsened.

Warwick Davis (Professor Filius Flitwick) returned to Twitter after taking time off to reflect after his friend passed away before Christmas.

Joining Oliver and James Phelps (Fred Weasley) on a new episode of their podcast, Normal Not Normal, was friend and fellow Harry Potter star Katie Leung (Cho Chang).
