Potter DIY: “Harry Potter” Keychains

Looking for an easy gift or a simple way to Potter up your life? Follow the steps below to make a set of resin-based keychains in the Hogwarts House colors.

 

What You’ll Need:

  • Equal parts A and B resin
  • Gloves
  • Plastic cups
  • A measuring cup
  • Mica powder (or dyes)
  • Glitter
  • A heat gun (or a lighter)
  • Harry Potter molds (here are some similar ones; the crests are from Glitter Flow on Instagram)
  • Mixing sticks

 

Directions:

Step 1: Pour equal parts of resins A and B into a cup (about 2 oz), and stir for four minutes until both parts are mixed well.

Step 2: Divide the mixture into four smaller cups and add your dye of choice (red, yellow, green, blue), then mix each well.

Step 3: In the mold, add corresponding colored glitter to the bottom, and then add the color resin to each mold.

Step 4: Apply a heat gun or a lighter to the outside of the mold to keep any bubbles from forming, and wait for 24 hours (or until the resin is completely set) before unmolding.
