“Harry Potter” Alumnae Set to Attend the Lumos Foundation’s Global Virtual Gala

The Lumos Foundation has done a lot of good work since its inception in 2005, providing homes and families to thousands of children. Last year, it was even nominated for a CIPR Excellence Award. There’s no denying that Lumos has brought a lot of light to many children’s lives, and now you can add a little light too.

Lumos has announced that it will be hosting a global virtual gala on October 2, 2021, and you’re invited. It’s set to be a great event, featuring plenty of familiar faces. It will be hosted by Alec Baldwin, whom Potterheads might remember as one of the voices reading the Harry Potter books for Harry Potter at Home last year. There will also be some very special guests attending. Harry Potter alumnae Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood), Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley), and Noma Dumezweni (Hermione Granger in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) will be at the event, as well as singer and Lumos ambassador Sophie Ellis-Bextor. To top it off, guests can also look forward to a special reading from The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling.

This gala will also see the Richard Robinson Illumination Award presented for the very first time in memory of the late Robinson, who was the chairman and CEO of Scholastic Inc. The award will recognize young self-advocates who are raising their voices to change the world.

It promises to be a magical event for a good cause, so mark your calendars for October 2, and make sure you’re available from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. EDT. You can grab your tickets here.

Growing up, I was a massive fan of Harry Potter and my love for the stories grew as I got older. It’s no surprise then that I love writing about all things Potter related. When I’m not writing about all the magic, you’ll find me reading (probably something Harry Potter related), listening to music, or writing some songs.
