Merch Madness: Vera Bradley, Cath Kidston, and More!

by Mary Wojcicki · December 18, 2021

It’s the holiday season, and we’re sure that this edition of Merch Madness will give you plenty of inspiration for gifts of Wizarding World merchandise.

New Universal Theme Parks Merchandise

There is no shortage of new merchandise at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – both at Universal Orlando Resort and at Universal Studios Japan. WDW News Today has reported on everything from a new Marauder’s Map ornament to a collector’s edition wand inspired by potion-making. As mentioned by WDW News Today, “The gold handle has a small cauldron on the end, with tendrils of potion coming out of it.”

This collector’s wand is available for $75, and it can be purchased from Universal Orlando Resort’s online store.

The Marauder’s Map ornament was also available online for $22, but it is currently out of stock.

WDW News Today also spotted Hogwarts House water bottles, one for each House. Each bottle is available for $21, but it doesn’t look like they’re available online yet.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the world at Universal Studios Japan in Osaka, WDW News Today reports that some merchandise from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter has found a new home inside Rodeo Drive Souvenirs, while holiday merchandise has replaced the Wizarding World of Harry Potter merchandise that was previously at Beverly Hills Gifts. Additionally, there are some new treats available over in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter itself.

In the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, two new flavors of roll cake have replaced the Cauldron Cupcake and the Honeydukes Cupcake, both of which had been sold since 2015. There’s also a new box of chocolates with random Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans on top.

New Zealand Mint

Over at New Zealand Mint, there is a new Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 one-ounce silver coin. It is limited edition, with only 5,000 coins being minted, and is available for $95.00 (USD).

Celebrate the last film in the HARRY POTTER™ series, with a 1oz pure silver movie poster coin for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2™. The poster features a colour image of Harry front and centre, supported by his two friends Ron and Hermione as they face the final showdown. Hogwarts™ Castle is engraved in the background and shines out in silver along with the movie title. This unique rectangular-shaped coin has the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse to confirm it as legal tender.

Check it out in the unboxing video below.

Also available from New Zealand Mint is a collection of new collectible one-ounce silver coins themed after the Hogwarts Houses and the Hogwarts crest. Each of the five coins is legal tender and is available for $99.00 (USD).

You can view the unboxing of the Hogwarts crest coin below.

Vera Bradley Luna’s Medallion Collection

Last but not least, we have yet another magical pattern from the Harry Potter collaboration between Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Vera Bradley, and it’s inspired by Luna Lovegood. Called “Luna’s Medallion,” the pattern has a kaleidoscopic feel, almost like looking through a pair of Spectrespecs!

An email from Vera Bradley describes the latest collection:

Looking for magical last-minute holiday gifts? Take a peek at Vera Bradley’s newest magical collaboration with Warner Bros. Consumer Products through the eyes of Luna Lovegood™!

Inspired by Luna’s one-of-a-kind fashion flair and her dreamy, kaleidoscopic Spectrespecs, the limited-edition Luna’s Medallion collection features styles you know and love in Vera Bradley’s sustainable Recycled Cotton fabrication such as the Campus Backpack, Vera Tote, Large Travel Duffel Bag, Triple Zip Hipster, Sling Backpack and more.
