Meta Portal Experience Comes to “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” New York

Those heading to the Lyric Theatre on Broadway, New York City, between April 19 and 24 to watch Harry Potter and the Cursed Child are in for a treat in the form of an immersive AR experience with Meta.

Last year, it was announced that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Curtain Call was launching on Portal, allowing users and up to three friends to transform into characters from Cursed Child during Portal-to-Portal videos.

Taking it one step further, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has partnered with Meta once more “for a one-of-a-kind, one-week-only interactive experience,” which includes “time[-]bending clocks, levitating objects, living portrait walls, and more.”

Arrive early and explore activations throughout the theater that will allow you to transform into your favorite characters and visit beloved places within the wizarding world using AR filters on Meta Portal. Witness the magic firsthand and snap a selfie to commemorate your experience.

The experience already visited the Curran Theater in San Francisco, California, on April 8, 9, and 10.

Now moving to the Lyric Theatre in New York City, the Meta AR experience will take place both before and after the shows. It involves “video calls that will leave you spellbound” and “backgrounds inspired by costumes and sets,” and you can “connect with friends as you transform.”

Tickets for Cursed Child at the Lyric Theatre cost between $59 and $229. There is limited to good availability for the shows that are offering the Meta Portal experience between April 19 to 24, and you can purchase them online now.
