Catch Daniel Radcliffe as “Weird Al” Yankovic in Teaser Trailer for Roku Biopic

Daniel Radcliffe’s latest role is a little “weird” – and no, that’s not an insult. The Harry Potter actor has traded Harry’s round glasses for some vintage wire frames to portray parody singer “Weird Al” Yankovic in the Roku biopic Weird: The Al Yankovic Story.

The teaser trailer for the biopic, which you can watch below, was released by Roku at its 2022 NewFronts presentation today, according to Variety.

 

 

The teaser features Yankovic’s 1985 parody of Madonna’s “Like a Virgin,” titled “Like a Surgeon,” playing in the background, and it is noted that the film is “coming this fall.” Variety adds that viewers can expect the film to be something of a parody too:

The movie is billed as a [sic] ‘untold true story’ of Yankovic, documenting ‘Weird Al’s’ rise to fame with early hits like ‘Eat It’ and ‘Like a Surgeon’ — as well as his ‘torrid celebrity love affairs and famously depraved lifestyle.’ It’s really more of a scripted mockumentary, spoofing tropes that run rampant in self-important biopics.
