Time for a Movie Night: “Secrets of Dumbledore” Is Coming to HBO Max

Six weeks after its release, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore will be available to stream on HBO Max. If some still aren’t ready to get back into the theaters following the pandemic, this is a wonderful opportunity. Fantastic Beasts announced the movie’s arrival to HBO Max just this morning across social media. It’s scheduled to be ready for streaming later this month.

Just after its opening weekend, Fantastic Beasts brought in a relatively meek “$49 million after five days of domestic release.” The film did break $200 million worldwide in about the same time frame. The ratings from critics and audiences were mixed, to say the least, but overall, the film didn’t fall completely flat. One critic said, quite succinctly, “It’s kind of amazing how little actually happens here.” Others praised the film for showing such dynamic and caring relationships between some characters and some gave shoutouts to Mads Mikkelsen for jumping into the role of Grindelwald as gracefully as he did.

Perhaps the switch to streaming will bring more viewing accessibility to more audiences and maybe even give the film a needed second wind. Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore will be available for streaming on HBO Max on May 30.
