Is There Anything She Can’t Do? Evanna Lynch Cast in James Joyce Biopic, Kinder Beauty Launches Cruelty-Free Products
Harry Potter‘s own Evanna Lynch has been quite the busy bee lately. She’s been cast in a new film, and her skincare brand, Kinder Beauty, has launched all new products.
Lynch and Rupert Friend (The Death of Stalin, Pride & Prejudice) have been cast in the starring roles of James and Lucia. The upcoming biopic will examine the life of esteemed Irish writer James Joyce and his daughter, Lucia. Deadline reports the film will focus on the profoundness of this father-daughter relationship during the final decade of James Joyce’s life.
James and Lucia writer and director Robert Mullan says this isn’t a story about Joyce’s literary legacy, but rather“more about a father’s deep love for his daughter – as he protects her from unsuitable lovers, enthusiastic psychiatrists and, most importantly, her own demons.” Lucia Joyce was diagnosed with schizophrenia in the 1930s and went through hospitalizations in Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
When Lynch isn’t tackling hard-hitting roles on the screen, she focuses on vegan activism. Her ventures brought her to the world of cruelty-free skincare products and the creation of Kinder Beauty. The company made its mark in the skincare community with its animal-friendly subscription boxes. Cofounders Lynch, Daniella Monet (Nancy Drew, Victorious), and CEO Andrew Bernstein recently announced the launch of the brand’s first line of vegan facial products under Made by Kinder.
Cruelty-free beauty should be available to everyone, and we’re really glad to be playing a part in making quality products with clean ingredients accessible to everyone.
Three new facial serums, Hello Sunshine; Be Kind, Rewind; and Dew-Gooder, are the first of many new products for the Kinder Beauty brand. Bernstein says this move was a long time coming.
Since launching Kinder Beauty in 2019, probably the question I’ve been asked the most by customers is: ‘When are you going to launch your own products?’ I’ve always said we would when the time is right—when we were able to launch the best possible products at prices that are kinder to your wallet. That time is now, and I can’t wait for our customers to experience these serums, which we’ve put our heart and soul into developing.
Utilizing “science-backed formulations,” Kinder Beauty’s new serums contain Bakuchiol, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and vitamin C to help manage everyday skincare troubles. Hello Sunshine is priced at $38; Be Kind, Rewind at $36; and Dew-Gooder at $26. Kinder Beauty has also announced that “5% of proceeds from each serum purchased will be donated directly to animal charities in an effort to end animal cruelty and provide immediate support to animals in need of rescue.”
