“Harry Potter” Films Now Available on Netflix UK

For the first time ever, all eight Harry Potter films have been added to Netflix for those living in the United Kingdom and Ireland to enjoy.

 

 

It is not known how long the films will remain on Netflix, but the addition of the Harry Potter series comes at a good time. In April, a Harry Potter reboot was announced in the form of a TV series on Max (formerly HBO Max).

The series will feature seven seasons, each of which will correspond to a Harry Potter book, providing fans with a “faithful adaptation.” So it’s likely that fans of the franchise will be rereading the books and rewatching the films to remind themselves of the books’ many plots, subplots, and intricacies that were left out of the films.

The reboot will also feature a brand-new cast, which will have undoubtedly caused apprehension for many people, who may see the actors playing the film versions of the characters as irreplaceable. So with a new cast on the horizon in the (presumably) not-so-distant future, a rewatch of the Harry Potter films to make the most of the incredible set of original actors and actresses will be in the cards for many.

The first two Fantastic Beasts films are also available to watch on Netflix UK, so Potterheads in the UK and Ireland can enjoy a Wizarding World movie marathon (minus Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, unless you can access it another way) – sounds like a day well spent to us.

The Harry Potter film series is the fifth-highest-grossing film franchise in history and was nominated for 28 BAFTAs, 5 Grammys, and 12 Academy Awards, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if the introduction of the franchise to Netflix proves popular for fans.
