Which Hogwarts Houses Would Your Favorite “Friends” Characters Be Sorted Into?

by Bella Chadwell · November 24, 2016

Throughout the ’90s and early 2000s, Friends was a staple in entertainment, and each season yielded a new Thanksgiving episode filled with laughs and holiday hijinks. We enjoy Sorting characters over here at MuggleNet, so in honor of Thanksgiving in America, we decided to Sort each of the Friends characters into their Hogwarts Houses.

Monica Geller

Monica is smart. She’s a bit short-tempered, but she’s also very driven. She needs to win, and she needs to prove that she is the best. It’s easy to see why Ravenclaw would make such a great home for her.

Joey Tribbiani

Joey likes the ladies (perhaps a bit too much), but he’s really very sweet. When his friends are in trouble or facing hard times, he shows great loyalty by doing everything in his power to help them. Joey would make an excellent Hufflepuff, and he would surely love the close proximity of his common room to the kitchens. He and the house-elves would make great friends.

Ross Geller

Ross is another one destined for Ravenclaw. I mean, he has a PhD, and he works for a museum. He takes in the world from a scholarly standpoint and finds excitement in lectures that might put his friends to sleep.

Rachel Green

Rachel was the hardest to Sort. I would even go so far as to call her the Hatstall of the group. She’s not brainy or particularly hard-working – we all saw how well she took to her job at Central Perk – so Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff can be ruled out. So is she cunning? Or does she show great bravery? In the end, I think it would be safe to place Rachel into Gryffindor. She has a kind of Lavender Brown vibe about her, and she does show bravery in the very first episode when she runs away from her own wedding and her father’s money so that she can live her own life as the hat she’s always wanted to be instead of the shoe that everyone expects.

Phoebe Buffay

Phoebe was another one who was hard to Sort. She’s sort of hippy-dippy and a little bit ditzy, so my first bet was to place her into Hufflepuff. But that didn’t seem right to me. Phoebe marches to her own beat, and she’s had to spend years learning how to survive on her own. She almost has a Luna Lovegood vibe with her crazy clothes and different way of thinking, which made me certain that she would be a better fit for Ravenclaw instead.

Chandler Bing

Ah, Chandler… my personal favorite with his witty quips and sarcastic remarks, Chandler was particularly fun to Sort. With the recent release of Cursed Child, we got to see a different side of Slytherin in Scorpius and Albus Severus, and I feel as though Chandler would make just that kind of Slytherin.

Where would you Sort them?
