J.K. Rowling on Set of “Fantastic Beasts” 2! Are Hogwarts Scenes Being Filmed?

It definitely looks like filming is happening at Lacock Abbey! One Twitter user glimpsed what appears to be students in Hogwarts robes on the Abbey grounds:

Gather ’round, No-Majs! It looks like the Fantastic Beasts 2 train is finally gaining speed!

We learned back in May that the script for the still-untitled Fantastic Beasts sequel was finished. Since then, we’ve heard little else, aside from casting confirmations and plot rumors.

J.K. Rowling may have finally let us know where the project stands by sharing this post to her Twitter account!

 

In true JKR fashion, the post is basically spoiler free, but the emojis she chose to put as the caption, along with the griffins on each side of her name, really hints that she is indeed on the set of Fantastic Beasts 2.

Adding a bit of fuel to the fire, production crews were seen at Lacock Abbey. There has also been a disclaimer put up on the website stating that the Abbey will be closed from August 21 until September 16 for filming, though they obviously do not state what is filming. If that scenery looks familiar, it’s because it was used as the backdrop for none other than the greatest wizarding school in the world, Hogwarts!

 

 

Since we previously heard that there was casting open for younger versions of the characters, it’s entirely possible that these flashback scenes are being filmed!
