Welcome back to another week of Casting News! After a very exciting MuggleNet Live! in Orlando, Florida, we are back in action and ready to bring you all the latest on the upcoming projects of our wizarding world alumni.

Bill Nighy‘s (Rufus Scrimgeour) The Limehouse Golem makes an appearance once again! This time, Collider has an exclusive clip from the Victorian thriller! Watch it below!

Nighy also spoke with MovieMaker magazine about the things that he has learned as a moviemaker. Below are a few of the lessons that he’s learned!

Don’t take drugs, pay your taxes, and if anyone says you have to feel everything, call a cab.

On acting, meanwhile, he has learned that the craft is “instinctive.”

Acting is instinctive. I don’t think there is any training that’s necessary. Acting is action; it’s physical and it’s vocal. A passive activity like watching or reading isn’t going to help you do something that’s active, and [acting isn’t] cerebral, necessarily, so thinking about it isn’t going get the baby bathed, either. Just doing it and repeating it seems to be the thing.

He also dispelled the notion that older actors are automatically more talented than younger ones because of their increased experience.

It doesn’t matter how old you are. Acting isn’t something that necessarily gains from experience. If you’re starting out, you could be guided by your director, guided by the example of the other actors, but you don’t have to wait to be any good. Often you see very young performers who are far more accomplished than older people will ever be, and it’s not to do with age or with experience. And the idea that people who have experienced things in life will be able to act them better is of course completely, comically ludicrous.

Gary Oldman (Sirius Black) has been cast in a starring role in the supernatural thriller Mary, writes the Hollywood Reporter. A synopsis of the film, which is being co-financed and produced by Tucker Tooley Entertainment and eOne, can be found below.

‘Mary’ centers on a struggling family that buys an old ship at auction with the high hopes of starting a charter business, only to discover its horrifying secrets on the isolated open waters.

Mary is scheduled to begin production in Alabama this month, with Michael Goi set to direct the film.

A trailer has been released for The Lodgers, which stars David Bradley (Argus Filch), ahead of its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on September 8. Deadline Hollywood, which posted the trailer, describes the film.

The Lodgers is a gothic ghost story about orphaned twins Edward (Milner) and Rachel (Vega), who live in a crumbling manor in 1920s rural Ireland. But they are not alone — they share the house with unseen entities who control them with three absolute rules. As separate fates draw them apart, the twins must face the terrible truth about their family’s ghostly tormentors.

Jude Law (young Albus Dumbledore, Fantastic Beasts) has signed on to join actresses Elle Fanning and Selena Gomez in Woody Allen’s next feature film, according to AFP-Relaxnews. Little is known about the project at this time.

The feature is set to be the third film that Allen directs for Amazon Studios, with sources suggesting that the plot could revolve around a coming-of-age love story, although the title and logline are not yet available.

Domhnall Gleeson‘s (Bill Weasley) Star Wars character, General Hux, now has an action figure, and LEGO has officially unveiled its Star Wars: The Last Jedi sets! MarketWatch posted pictures of the new LEGO figures, including Hux himself!

The 554-piece set includes minifigures of General Hux, the ruthless officer in the First Order (played in ‘The Last Jedi’ by Domhnall Gleeson), Resistance Trooper, First Order Flametrooper and the First Order Crew. It retails for $49.99.

Dame Maggie Smith (Professor McGonagall) is set to appear at the Orange Tree Theatre in London later this year as part of an exclusive conversation series, reports WhatsOnStage. The event is being held as a fundraiser for the theater’s outreach work and will take place at 3:00 p.m. local time on November 19. Tickets are available for £100.

Finally, the visual effects studio that worked on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Double Negative, is opening a new studio in Montréal, per a recent press release.

Due to open in early 2018, this will be Double Negative’s sixth international facility, joining its network of studios in London, Vancouver, Los Angeles, Mumbai and Chennai, India.
