Social Media Roundup: Celebrate the Milestones

by Sarah Wylde · October 4, 2020

Welcome back! It is time to get ready to catch up with some of the Wizarding World stars in this latest edition of MuggleNet’s Social Media Roundup! During the past two weeks, there have been birthday celebrations, a TikTok imposter, conversations about the environment and climate change, a US presidential debate, and more.

There were a few birthdays that took place this month, and on September 22, Tom Felton turned 33 years old. Wishing him a happy birthday was Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy), his movie dad. Felton also shared a picture of himself and his mom spending the day together in London.

Holy hairy heroes son – you’re Jesus’s age today! In these strangest of dark days you’re always a ray of light to me. Thanks for making mischief, music and magic for this fan (and all the others too).

Jessie Cave’s (Lavender Brown) son had a superhero sixth birthday, with what looks to be some fantastic masks.

Another birthday that cannot be left out is that of Evanna Lynch’s adorable furry cat, Puff, who turned seven. The furry feline even looked to the camera for a royal pose.

Celebrating another wonderful milestone were Afshan Azad (Padma Patil) and her husband, who moved into their new home together. Congratulations to you both on your new home!

Continuing to share updates from the road on her 720K walk for the Orchid Project was Natalia Tena (Nymphadora Tonks), who took a break to do a superhero pose before beginning the trek of climbing the mountain.

With the multiple social media platforms out there, it can be hard to keep track of which ones the Wizarding World stars are on. Harry Potter actor Oliver Phelps let his fans know that the below-mentioned account is not him on TikTok. It is a fake account.

Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) continued to bring awareness by talking with activist Jamie Margolin about climate anxiety and Rainforest Alliance Ethiopia director Denu Lemma Tsegaye on coffee and how consumer choices impact farmers in Ethiopia.

Sharing their opinions about the presidential debate on September 29 were Dan Fogler (Jacob Kowalski) and Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom).

Yup, the rest of the world sure respects America again, no doubt about it. What a farce. #PresidentialDebate2020

Reminding us to wear a mask to keep ourselves and those around us safe were Matthew Lewis and Katie Leung (Cho Chang). Leung also shared a satirical cartoon depicting the voting polls as part of the protective equipment needed in 2020.

Wear a damn mask.

The perfect way to conclude this roundup is with these beautiful, wise words from Jamie Campbell Bower (young Grindelwald).

Just be a good person and do good things for the world X

We have reached the end of this edition of the Social Media Roundup! Check back in two weeks to see what some of your favorite Wizarding World stars have been up to.
