“Cursed Child” Broadway Announces Return of the “Friday Forty” in Advance of First Preview Performance

One of the best parts about the world opening back up is the return of theater. There’s nothing quite as magical, and we’ve been thrilled to see several productions of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child announcing show dates recently. Now, Broadway has announced that in advance of its first preview performance, it’s bringing back the famous “Friday Forty.”

You can now enter for your chance to get $40 tickets in advance of the first preview performance on November 12. If you’re not familiar with the Friday Forty, the concept is pretty simple: A limited number of $40 tickets are released for purchase every Friday at 1:00 p.m. ET for the performance the following week. If you’re eager to get your hands on these tickets, you can still enter the draw, which will take place on November 5.

As avid fans will already know, the Broadway production of Cursed Child is now a single-part performance instead of the two-part performances that used to be the norm. The preview performances will start at New York’s Lyric Theatre on November 12, and fans can look forward to the official opening night, which has been set for Tuesday, December 7. The single-show experience will also begin previews in San Francisco at the Curran on January 11, 2022, and in Toronto, Canada, at the Ed Mirvish Theatre on May 31, 2022. The TBS Akasaka ACT Theater in Tokyo will see the single-part show starting on July 8, 2022. In London, the original two-part play has already resumed at the Palace Theatre, and those living in Melbourne, Australia, can look forward to Cursed Child returning to the Princess Theatre on November 18. The Broadway production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has announced the return of the popular “Friday Forty,” where every Friday at 1:00 PM ET the show will release a limited number of $40 tickets for every performance the following week. Entries begin on Monday, November 1st, at 12:01 PM ET with the drawing taking place on Friday, November 5th, for the next week of performances.

Preview performances for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which returns to Broadway as a newly staged, single magical experience, start at the Lyric Theatre in New York on Friday, November 12th, with the new opening night now set for Tuesday, December 7th.

“Friday Forty” are only available through TodayTix.com and the TodayTix app, available for download in the App Store and the Google Play store. For more information, visit TodayTix.com. Entries will be accepted via TodayTix each Monday from 12:01 AM ET until Friday 1:00 PM ET for the following week’s performances. Winners will be notified between 1:00 PM ET and 5:00 PM ET on Friday.

Winners pay $40 per person and can purchase a maximum of two tickets. Winners can pick-up [sic] tickets at the box office on the day of their performance.

To ensure that as many people as possible have the chance to access these low-price tickets, they are only available to buy via the [sic] TodayTix.com or the TodayTix [a]pp. It is not possible to purchase these tickets in person at the Lyric Theatre or anywhere else.
