MuggleNet Throwback: A decade of films begins with UK Premiere for “Sorcerer’s Stone”

This week we take a look back at the very beginning of the most successful film franchise of all-time. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone World Premiere occured on November 4, 2001 at the Odeon Cinema in Leicester Square in London.Fans attending the event had the first chance to see the young actors in the spotlight.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone went on to earn $974.8 million and reached second place on the all-time list at that time, behind only Titanic. It was a sign of things to come as the franchise has gone on to become the most successful in history, led by the same group of young actors.
