It seems that one of our favorite fantasy authors has now cemented herself as a real talent in the world of mystery as well! Last night, the winners of the 34th annual Los Angeles Time Book Prizes were announced, and J.K. Rowling, writing as Robert Galbraith, was awarded one of these prestigious prizes.
In the wake of the revelation earlier this week that the sequel to J.K. Rowling’s surprise pseudonymous novel The Cuckoo’s Calling, entitled The Silkworm, will be released this June, The Sunday Times has published...
Finalists for the 2013 LA Times Book Prizes have been announced, and The Cuckoo’s Calling by Robert Galbraith (J.K. Rowling) made the cut! The full list of finalists is here. We wish Robert Galbraith good luck!
Fans had some exciting news earlier this week when the title and release date of J.K. Rowling’s second Cormoran Strike novel was announced and when it was revealed that she would be promoting the book at the Theakston Old Peculiar Crime Writing Festival. Now, The Silkworm is available for pre-order on Amazon, Amazon UK and Waterstones.
Following yesterday’s announcement that the follow-up novel to The Cuckoo’s Calling, entitled The Silkworm, would be released this June, Robert Galbraith’s official website has been updated with more information about the book and its release.
J.K. Rowling shocked fans last summer when it was revealed that she had written a novel under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith and that the book was to be the first in a series. Now, the sequel to The Cuckoo’s Calling has been given a title, a release date and most importantly, a synopsis!
Christopher Gossage, the lawyer who revealed J.K. Rowling as the true author behind the pseudonym Robert Galbraith, has been fined 1,000 GBP by the Solicitors Regulation Authority for his breach of confidentiality.
As 2013 draws to a close, Amazon published their Best-Selling Books of 2013 list. In a recent press release, the Editorial Director of Books and Kindle at Amazon, Sara Wilson, compared last year’s most popular books in the contemporary romance genre to this year’s hottest releases in the mystery and thriller genres.

It’s high time I paid homage to the mighty MuggleNet. Where to start? I love the design, (I currently favour the ‘Dementor’ layout), the polls (I actually voted in the ‘Who’s the Half-Blood Prince?’ one), the pretty-much-exhaustive information on all books and films, the wonderful editorials (more insight there than in several companion volumes I shall not name), 101 Ways to Annoy Lord Voldemort (made me laugh aloud), the Wall of Shame (nearly as funny as some of the stuff I get)… pretty much everything. Webmaster Emerson, Eric, Jamie, Damon, Ben, Matthew, Rachel, Jaymz and Sharon, I salute you.
