J.K. Rowling has been named by CNBC in a list of the world’s top 200 influential people. The list has been created in order to celebrate CNBC’s 25th anniversary, and over the next few months the list will be narrowed to a top 25. Should she be one of the names on the top 25 list?
The Sunday Times is today reporting that in an unexpected move J.K. Rowling has reversed her thoughts on a particularly sensitive Potter issue that recently sent waves across the fandom. The story has arisen from an interview between Jo and Emma Watson in this month’s Wonderland magazine. The quotes provided by the Times, however, detail more about Jo’s writing choices than the disputed topic at hand.
The entire Potter fandom knows that our favorite author, affectionately called “Queen Rowling,” certainly has style fit for royalty, and now the rest of the world is taking notice! J.K. Rowling was listed as Number 10 on Vanity Fair’s “Best-Dressed Female Authors.”
The Daily Mail has recently taken down an online article that was headlined “How JK Rowling’s sob story about her past as a single mother has left the churchgoers who cared for her upset and bewildered,” which was a gross misrepresentation of her comments in the article she wrote for Gingerbread in 2012.
Christopher Gossage, the lawyer who revealed J.K. Rowling as the true author behind the pseudonym Robert Galbraith, has been fined 1,000 GBP by the Solicitors Regulation Authority for his breach of confidentiality.
As 2013 draws to a close, Amazon published their Best-Selling Books of 2013 list. In a recent press release, the Editorial Director of Books and Kindle at Amazon, Sara Wilson, compared last year’s most popular books in the contemporary romance genre to this year’s hottest releases in the mystery and thriller genres.
Earlier this morning, British tabloid “The Daily Mail” ran with what appeared to be a nonsense news story: a West End adaptation of “Harry Potter.” Mere hours later, however, J.K. Rowling herself has confirmed that this will in fact become a reality.
The Daily Mail has claimed that they can exclusively reveal that a Harry Potter stage play will be on London’s West End within two years. As of this posting, this information remains a RUMOR, unconfirmed by Warner Bros.
