Andrew Ackland-Snow, the art director for the Harry Potter franchise, has revealed that Severus Snape will have a death scene in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 which is different from what’s found in the book.
This fantastic piece of art comes from Alex, and he has titled it ‘Voldemort and the Elder Wand’! Drawn with pencil on card stock, then scanned into Photoshop CS4 for painting and processing. In the artist’s own words: ‘I wanted to create sort of a twisted candid of a contemplative and powerful villain with his terrifying new toy.’
The nominees for the 2011 Orange British Academy Film Awards were announced this morning, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 was nominated in two categories.
– Special Visual Effects (against Alice in Wonderland, Black Swan, Inception, Toy Story 3)
– Make Up & Hair (against Alice in Wonderland, Black Swan, The King’s Speech, Made in Dagenham)

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 has moved past Half-Blood Prince to No. 11 on the all-time worldwide box office list.
It sits just outside the top 10 with $937.7 million and is $500,000 away from passing Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
The franchise now has one-quarter of the top 12 movies of all-time.
