It’s been almost a year since we first told you that David Bradley, who portrays Filch in the Harry Potter films, would be starring in a Doctor Who 50th anniversary special, An Adventure in Space and Time. The film tells the story of the early cast and crew of the now iconic show. Now, your chance to check out Bradley’s performance is almost upon us!
David Bradley – who portrayed Hogwarts caretaker Argus Filch in the Harry Potter series – will be on stage alongside 40 students from four North Yorkshire schools at York Minster performing a new composition in order to herald the influence of novelist and vicar Laurence Sterne, who wrote The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman in Coxwold in 1759.
Dear Mr. Filch, What is your opinion on Muggles? What is your opinion on witches and wizards and magical beasts? On Goblins and ghosts and magical feasts? Do you enjoy working at Hogwarts?
Yesterday, BBC revealed the details for the immense celebrations seeking to “take over TV and radio” in order to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who. Among the names involved are Potter alumni David Tennant (Barty Crouch, Jr.), John Hurt (Garrick Ollivander), David Bradley (Argus Filch), and Warwick Davis (Griphook/Professor Flitwick).
Our latest section of ‘Dear Hogwarts…’ has had a fantastic appeal to many fans, and each week we will feature one special letter that we received within the Ministry of Magic Postal Service.
Dear Mr. Potter,
It is with great concern that I am writing you, Mr. Potter.
You see, I have read all seven volumes of your biography, written by Ms. Rowling, as well as seen all eight of the documentaries of your life. And there is but one thing that is left unanswered. I doubt anyone at Hogwarts would believe me, just as you felt when you were a student there. But I fear Voldemort was not entirely defeated. I know it sounds crazy, but please hear me out:
