This week, the Time-Turner takes us all the way back to 2014, a year that saw Rowling interact with fans on Twitter, Emma Watson launch the HeForShe campaign, and Rita Skeeter cover the Quidditch World Cup.
Emma Watson, a longtime champion of women’s rights, is set to present the Gender Equality Advisory Council’s findings at the G7 Summit.
Emma Watson, UN Women Goodwill Ambassador and HeForShe founder, has met with officials at the G7 Gender Equality Conference, fighting for legislation to support women’s rights.
As part of her continued efforts to combat gender inequality, Emma Watson attended the G7’s event to help form strategies that will empower women across the world.
In September of 2014, Emma Watson delivered a speech about gender equality at the United Nations Headquarters. While some fans were quick to praise her statements, others felt her comments reflected a very limited perspective on what feminism could be.
As previously reported, Emma Watson’s “Beauty and the Beast” received an impressive four MTV Movie and TV Award nominations, and at Sunday night’s ceremony, Watson was honored with the first major gender-neutral acting award.
The annual celebration has events over the world and runs March 8–15, 2017.
