Dear Professor Sprout,

Since my studies have begun here at Hogwarts I have been lucky enough to have made a large and diverse group of friends. Not only in my own house, Hufflepuff, but I can also count among my friends a few Gryffindors, a couple of Ravenclaws, and one Slytherin. Now this Slytherin is probably the best friend I’ve ever had. Oh sure, we can get competitive over Quidditch matches and the House Cup. But at the end of the day we care for one another and try to spend as much free time as we can with each other. However I’m afraid to say that some of my fellow badgers don’t understand how I can be friends with a snake. My Slytherin friend is not evil or vindictive or stuck up in any way. He’s just very driven to succeed and has high goals for himself, which I don’t see as bad thing. How can I help my fellow badgers see the error of their judgments?

Dear Professor Sprout,

I’m a Hufflepuff and all my friends are in Gryffindor and Slytherin. It’s hard not to feel uncool when I’m around them. I’m happy as a Badger, but sometimes I wish I was cooler.

What do you think I should do?

Regards. One of my close friends, who is a Hufflepuff, performed extremely well in the tests. All students have been asking her how she managed, and all of them are envious. She is tired of all those questions, knowing that no one really congratulates her without secretly wishing she had not done well. Personally, I feel lucky to not be in her place( seeing that i failed; but that’s a different story) but I really feel bad for her. She is always frustrated. Is there any way I can help her?

My grandma wanted new plants in her garden, so I bought her some Devil’s Snare.

Unfortunately, it was very sunny the last few days and now you can barely see them. Do you have advice how I can make them grow again?

I’ve been asked into Hogsmeade by two boys. One is a strong, handsome Gryffindor, the other a witty and intelligent Ravenclaw. I like them both, so who should I choose?
