J.K. Rowling attends private ball in Nepal
Last week, J.K. Rowling was in Nepal, where she visited the British School and spoke to pupils about Harry Potter. While in the country, Jo also attended a ball for the 200th anniversary of Gurkha Service to the Crown. Jo was the chief guest at the private ball and attended with her family, but that didn’t stop Potter fans from gathering outside in the hope of catching a glimpse of Jo. Unfortunately, as the Baltic Review reports, Jo was not able to stop and see fans on this trip.
On Jo’s attendance, Major Manoj Mohora, the Gurkha Major for the British Army, said that
this year, Gurkhas will have served in the British Army for two centuries. We asked Rowling to be our chief guest. and she kindly accepted.
You can catch up with what Jo got up to when she visited the British School here, as well as listen to an interview with the author.
Were you one of the fans who hoped to catch a glimpse of Jo? Let us know in the comments!
