Harry Potter Festival Returning to Chestnut Hill!
Now in its seventh year, the annual Harry Potter Festival will be returning to Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania! Visit Philadelphia’s blog, Uwishunu Philadelphia, reported the news that Chestnut Hill will once again transform itself into a spectacle straight out of the Harry Potter series.
The event, which is set for Friday, October 21 and Saturday, October 22, will see the the area’s Germantown Avenue “transformed into a giant street festival” for the first time! Previously, the festival was held on Chestnut Hill’s sidewalks. Now, Uwishunu writes,
Germantown Avenue from Rex to Willow Grove [A]venues will be shut down to vehicular traffic and open up to festival-goers only on Saturday, October 22.
Additionally, the festival’s popular pub crawl will be returning this year:
Pub crawl tickets will go on sale on September 28 and will include to-be-announced perks. Those who do not purchase tickets for the pub crawl can still visit the participating bars in Chestnut Hill and join the fun.
On the festival’s web page, the activities planned for the weekend are detailed. Chestnut Hill College will be hosting its Harry Potter-themed events around the same time, with its academic conference set for both October 20 (for their new High School Section) and October 21. Plus, as part of the academic conference, MuggleNet Academia‘s Keith Hawk and John Granger will be in Chestnut Hill on October 21!
