Emma Watson Lends Voice to Help Give Books to Children in Need
Love of books is an important part of Emma Watson’s life, both on and off screen. It’s nearly impossible to imagine Hermione Granger without a book, and Belle’s love of literature allowed her to find a way to make those first connections with the Beast. Emma has left books on trains, started her own book club, and is now helping Disney put new books in the hands of children in need with “The Magic of Storytelling.”
Books take kids to amazing places, grow their imaginations, and prepare them for the future. Do you remember the magic of your first book? For 15 years, First Book and Disney have helped kids in need live happily ever after by providing new books to help them read, learn and succeed. Now you can give stories that change lives. Join First Book and Disney | ABC to help get one million books to kids across the country. Be inspired to share the magic of storytelling.
There are many ways you can help. Disney will donate a book to a child in need through First Book now through February 4, 2017 (Disney Reads Day), for each of the following:
- Post a shelfie (a selfie with a favorite book or in front of a bookshelf) on Instagram or Twitter, using #magicofstorytelling.
- Enter the sweepstakes here.
- Purchase an eligible book on Disney Reads Day at select Disney Stores and Barnes and Noble locations.
Do you remember your first new book, or the first time you read what became a treasured story? We would love to hear about it in the comments below, and make sure to catch Emma in Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast, coming to theaters March 17, 2017.
