“Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery”: Earn New Items with Hogwarts Rocks! Plus, How to Beat the Acromantula

Have you always wanted some edgy accessories for your Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery character? Well, wonder no more thanks to the in-game event Hogwarts Rocks!

This multi-day event allows players to collect all the items required for a punk rock-inspired outfit. In order to do so, players must earn crests by getting full stars in their classes. Earning crests will fill up the meter and unlock the rewards available at each tier. There are a few days left in the Hogwarts Rocks! event, so don’t hang around if you want to earn these unique items!

If you found our tips for winning the centaur duel useful, then hopefully, we can also help you out with defeating the Acromantula in Year 4, Chapter 16.

We’re sure only Hagrid enjoys the idea of coming across a giant spider, but even he may have second thoughts since this is one of the tougher boss battles in the game. Like other duels, you must choose a stance at the beginning of each round to determine who gets a turn. Aggressive stances beat Sneaky stances, Sneaky stances beat Defensive stances, and Defensive stances beat Aggressive stances. Whoever won the round can then cast a defensive, aggressive, or healing spell or drink a healing potion.

To beat the Acromantula, you should use the Aggressive stance as much as possible. The Acromantula will almost always use Sneaky stance, so by sticking to Aggressive stances, players should win most of the turns. The attack from the Acromantula does significant damage, which will last the course of eight rounds, so while it’s safe to use a Defensive stance occasionally to heal with some healing potion, don’t risk a Sneaky stance!

Beating this eight-legged boss is a matter of patience, but once defeated, you will be one step closer to completing the chapter. Let us know how you get on in the comments!

I was given a copy of Philosopher's Stone in 2001, and instantly, I was hooked. Since then, my passion for Potter has been equaled only by my passion for fair access to education (and watching motorsport). A spell I wish could exist in the Muggle world is the summoning charm because this Hufflepuff is not a "particularly good finder"!
