Casting Announced for “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” in Hamburg

The casting for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the Mehr! Theater am Großmarkt in Hamburg, Germany, has been announced! The first production of the play to be performed in a language other than English, the Hamburg production is also known as Harry Potter und das verwunschene Kind.

Markus Schöttl stars as Harry Potter. Sebastian Witt will portray Ron Weasley, while Jillian Anthony will portray Hermione Granger (known as Hermine Granger in German). Sarah Schütz will play Ginny Potter, and Alen Hodzovic will play Draco Malfoy.

For the second generation, Vincent Lang will play Albus Potter, and Mathias Reiser will play Scorpius Malfoy. Madina Frey will play Rose Granger-Weasley.

While the casting for the play’s child actors has not been announced, one journalist recently attending the casting for weekly newspaper Die Zeit.
