Three Shows That Every Slytherin Should Watch
Television has become a huge part of my life over the past few years. With the increasing availability of streaming platforms, there is always something new to watch. With shows everywhere, how do you filter through them to find the content you’ll actually enjoy? Why not try recommendations based on your Hogwarts House? Slytherins, this one is for you.
Game of Thrones
Game of Thrones is probably the most obvious choice. It is filled with plotting and political maneuvering along with the fighting and adventures. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a show with so many Slytherin characters. Everywhere you turn, there is someone displaying cunning, ambition, and shrewdness. I highly recommend giving this show a try.
The Witcher
Netflix released the first season of The Witcher in December, and I am already in love. The show is based on a video game and a book series about a Witcher who travels around fighting monsters. There is a sorceress who I think is one of the best representations of a Slytherin in a show. She is ruthless, cunning, and unafraid of a challenge, but she will do anything for the people she cares about.
His Dark Materials
His Dark Materials is one of my new favorite shows. It is based on the book trilogy written by Phillip Pullman. These books were some of my favorites when I was younger because they were filled with adventure and interesting plots. Mrs. Coulter, the main character’s mother, is one of the most interesting characters. She spends the trilogy manipulating her way into achieving her own goals, and her character in this new show is very much the same. She is a true example of how Slytherins will “use any means to achieve their ends” (SS 118). I highly recommend this show and book series to any Slytherins looking for some tips on getting what they want.
