Join Olivia Colman and a Few Special Guests for Chapter 7 of “Philosopher’s Stone”

We’ve heard from Harry Potter actors, Fantastic Beasts actors, audiobook narrators, and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child actors during Harry Potter at Home‘s special reading of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone/Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Now it’s time to hear from a few Potter fans: Olivia Colman, Jonathan Van Ness, and Kate McKinnon.

Oscar Award-winning actress Olivia Colman has frequently worked with Potter stars. She spent several years working with David Tennant (Barty Crouch, Jr.) on Broadchurch, and when she took over the role of Queen Elizabeth II in The Crown, she became costars with Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange).

Colman is joined by stylist, author, and Queer Eye star Jonathan Van Ness. Van Ness gives a delightful reading of the Sorting Hat’s first song.

SNL icon Kate McKinnon also makes an appearance during this chapter reading. McKinnon previously worked with Dame Emma Thompson (Sybill Trelawney), who hosted the show last year. McKinnon called her “the finest actor in the world,” so we know she has an appreciation for one of the Potter greats. You don’t want to miss McKinnon’s rendition of the Hogwarts school song.

I once knew every word to the "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" movie. Now I use my Ravenclaw brain power to manage the MuggleNet News Team, write articles, and podcast about "Harry Potter". Outside of the site, I'm a long-distance runner, social worker, and baker. I hope to one day pay off my student loans.
