Social Media Roundup: Everything Is Coming Up Weasley

Come in and pull up a chair while enjoying some Chocolate Frogs. It’s time to see what some of the Wizarding World stars have been up to in the latest edition of MuggleNet’s Social Media Roundup! During the past two weeks, there’ve been some new podcast episodes, throwback Thursday pictures, happy birthday wishes to a Harry Potter actor, and much more.

Unfortunately, there was some sad news shared during this time as well. Captain Sir Tom Moore, a British veteran of the Second World War, passed away on February 2. He became well known for his fundraising efforts during the first coronavirus lockdown in the United Kingdom, during which he raised £33 million for NHS charities. Sending their condolences were Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) and Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy).

Felton also took to Twitter to wish Harry Potter costar Warwick Davis (Filius Flitwick) a happy birthday.

In the podcast world, Jessie Cave (Lavender Brown) talked about getting a dog and more on the 12th episode of We Can’t Talk About That Right Now, which she hosts with her sister, Bebe.

On the latest episode of The ChickPeeps Vegan Podcast, Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) talked with Mikaela Loach, who is an anti-racism and climate justice activist. During the episode, they focused on community needs, different perspectives, and redistributing privilege in veganism.

Since February 3 is Super Bowl Sunday, Oliver Phelps (George Weasley) and James Phelps (Fred Weasley), who host the podcast Normal Not Normal, released a bonus episode in which they talked with National Football League and New Orleans Saints player Cam Jordan.

Speaking of the Phelps brothers, they have also recently reached 200,000 subscribers on their YouTube channel. Congratulations!

Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) directed a new music video for the song “Melt,” sung by Maguire and performed by Lewis Walker.
