Castium Revelio: It’s Official for the Penguin

Welcome to this week’s edition of MuggleNet’s Casting News! This week, we have more information about a spin-off show that we’ve been hinting about for the last couple of weeks, as well as a UK appearance for Vigilante and a new poster featuring Daniel Radcliffe! Castium Revelio!

Before all of that, though, we've got a couple of reports about new projects featuring Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy). He recently received an award for his part in Mass, a film about a couple trying to recover from a violent tragedy. The Film Independent Spirit Awards' Robert Altman title goes to the director, casting director, and ensemble cast of a film, and this year, Mass came out on top! Congratulations to Isaacs!

From an old Isaacs project to a new one – we've got a trailer for you from a new spy thriller film that he's set to be featured in! The film is called Agent Game and will follow a CIA agent who is scapegoated for the death of an interrogation subject. The agent (who will be played by Prodigal Son's Dermot Mulroney) must evade being caught by the ruthless group that is sent to bring him in. Check out the trailer below!

Brendan Gleeson (Mad-Eye Moody) has also been busy creating new things. He's narrating a documentary about the Burren region of County Clare in Ireland, entitled Burren: Heart of Stone. The two-part documentary will air in the US later this month, although it was released in Ireland last April. The documentary celebrates Irish heritage and the beauty of the area.

Speaking of US releases, it was announced earlier this week that Charlotte, which features Helen McCrory and Jim Broadbent (Narcissa Malfoy and Professor Slughorn, respectively) will get a small run in selected cinemas later this month! The animated film is about a girl whose love for art leads her to flee from violent mobs in Berlin to the south of France. While there, however, she discovers a dark secret about her family.

A film featuring Dame Emma Thompson (Professor Trelawney) and Isabella Laughland (Leanne) will also soon be released to a wider audience. It's one of three Searchlight Pictures that has received a Hulu release date! Good Luck to You, Leo Grande is about a retired teacher who finds herself wanting a bit of adventure. She decides that one way to achieve this is to hire a young sex worker, Leo Grande (played by Daryl McCormack). It will be available to stream on Hulu on June 17.

The US isn't the only country getting new releases. The UK rights for Peacemaker – in which Freddie Stroma's (Cormac McLaggen) Vigilante stars alongside John Cena's Peacemaker – have been snapped up by Sky! The show is the most recent to benefit from Sky and HBO's content deal, with the show airing in the UK beginning on March 22 on the Sky Max channel. It will also be available to stream on Now TV.

We've got a brand-new poster to show you next! Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) is set to star in The Lost City, an adventure comedy film about a romance author who gets kidnapped by Radcliffe's character, Fairfax. Three new posters were released this week, one for each of the lead characters, including Fairfax. Have a look at Radcliffe's poster below!

We're back to release date announcements next. Sir Kenneth Branagh's (Gilderoy Lockhart) most recent Agatha Christie adaptation, Death on the Nile, will be released on Hulu and HBO Max on March 29 in the US but will stream under the Star banner of Disney+ for most of Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand beginning March 30. April 6 will see the film become available in Spain and most of Southeast Asia, whereas in Latin America and Brazil, the film will be released on streaming sites on April 20.

We've got a teaser and a release date for you now! Gentleman Jack, a drama series featuring Gemma Jones (Madam Pomfrey) and Derek Riddell (Torquil Travers, Fantastic Beasts), will officially return for a second series! The eight-episode second season will premiere on HBO this April, with season one already being available to watch on HBO Max. Check out the teaser below!

Fantastic Beasts Cast and Crew

While we've shared some exciting news of release dates for you already, we have got something disappointing for you next. Unfortunately, we're going to have to wait even longer for Ezra Miller's (Credence Barebone) The Flash. Warner Bros. has reshuffled all of its upcoming films' release dates, which has impacted two other DC films as well. The new release date is June 23, 2023, meaning that the film has been pushed back an entire year.

We're ending this edition with something very exciting, however. We've been seeing rumors of a Penguin-inspired spin-off show to come as a result of The Batman, with Colin Farrell (Percival Graves) hinting in interviews that it may happen. We now know that the show has officially been ordered! We're expecting the show to shed a whole new light on Gotham City, from the eye of a villain instead of a hero. Are you excited about it?

That’s a wrap on this week’s Casting News! Which of these release dates have you put in your calendars? Let us know in the comments below!
