The Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle event is taking place on select nights from June 17 through August 13, and those visiting between now and July 16 will need to keep their eyes peeled for the limited-time appearance of the Death Eaters who will be roaming about from dusk.
UPDATE (July 8):
The appearance of Death Eaters in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter has been extended – guests will now be able to get a glimpse of them through July 30.
There are a few places around the Wizarding World of Harry Potter where they will stop to cast spells and interact with guests, including the platform of barrels and crates outside Honeydukes and the Three Broomsticks.
If you’re around to watch the spectacle of the full projection show, you’ll find yourself engulfed with John Williams’s Harry Potter musical score and live special effects as the castle lights up the sky. You might spot Dementors, the army of Inferi, Lord Voldemort, and other unspeakable creatures as they “cloak the stone walls with sinister images from the darker side of magic.” Take a look at the video below to see what you can expect.
This isn’t the first time Death Eaters have entered the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood. Last year, guests were given a spookily immersive experience for the theme park’s annual Halloween Horror Nights celebration, when Death Eaters could be seen roaming Hogsmeade village.
Are you planning a visit to Universal Studios Hollywood this summer? If you’re not going to get there in time for a glimpse of the Death Eaters before they disappear after July 16, you’ll still be able to see Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle light up the sky until August 13.
So just in case you come face to face with one of these spooky guests, you’d better start practicing your dueling and get your wands ready.
