Original Wands Up for Auction to Celebrate Warner Bros.’s 100th Anniversary

In order to celebrate Warner Bros.’s centenary, Julien’s Auctions and Turner Classic Movies are hosting a spellbinding event titled Legends: Hollywood & Royalty, from September 6 to 8, 2023. Costumes and props from several of the studio’s biggest franchises will go up for auction, including some wands used by your favorite witches and wizards.

The auction boasts a stunning range of wands, from those used by the golden trio in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 to Michael Gambon’s Elder Wand from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and the wand used by Ralph Fiennes as Lord Voldemort in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The wands belonging to Luna Lovegood, Remus Lupin, Molly Weasley, and Severus Snape that were used in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 will also be part of the auction, as well as Sirius Black’s wand from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

Wands aren’t the only props that are up for auction. Various other props from across the film series will also be available to bid on, from the orb that prophesized it all to an issue of The Quibbler used in Half-Blood Prince. A first-edition copy of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, which has been signed by J. K. Rowling, is also part of the listings. You’ll also be able to invite your friends to events with a real-life invitation to the Yule Ball or one of the original letters and envelopes that invited Harry to Hogwarts.

Props from the Fantastic Beasts series will also be up for grabs. Issues of both the New York Ghost and the Wizard’s Voice are available, alongside a copy of the New York Clarion that comes with various wizarding world documents, including a wand permit application form.

This auction is not the only one this year to have sold original props, with Chiswick Auctions having put an acceptance letter on sale and Bonhams Auctions having sold a knitted jumper made for Daniel Radcliffe to wear in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. The Julien’s auction is slightly different since the Wizarding World goodies join props and costumes from a range of other franchises, including the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Star Wars, James Bond, and Star Trek. Legends: Hollywood & Royalty will be held from September 6 to 8 in Beverly Hills, but bids are already open online. Are you looking to purchase anything else for your collection?
