All Eight “Harry Potter” Films Are Coming to Peacock!

Are you worried that you won’t be able to stream the Harry Potter films when they leave HBO Max later this month? You might have to wait just a little while, but Peacock is here to save the day!

Peacock, the NBCUniversal streaming service that launched nationwide in the United States last month, will become the new streaming home of the Harry Potter film series later this year, according to Variety. When we reported on the move from HBO Max last month, we weren’t sure if this was part of NBCUniversal’s agreement with Warner Bros., but Variety writes that the agreement also includes the Fantastic Beasts franchise.

In 2016, [NBCUniversal] inked a deal with Warner Bros. locking up TV and digital rights to the Potter movies (including ‘Fantastic Beasts’) from 2018-2025 that also incorporated content for Universal theme parks.

Reportedly, the Harry Potter films will be coming to Peacock in October. Even better? They’ll be available on the free version of the platform, so you won’t need to pay for access to them.

Frances Manfredi, Peacock’s president of content acquisition and strategy, was quoted by Variety:

The Harry Potter franchise is beloved by people of all ages and represents the caliber of quality entertainment customers can expect to find on Peacock. We’ve built a world-class collection of iconic movies and shows, and we will continue to expand the film library with treasured titles from NBCUniversal and beyond that will surprise and delight Peacock customers time and time again.
