Special Performances of “Cursed Child” Are on the Horizon
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child continues to take the stage by storm across the globe. Muggles and magic folk of all ages are itching to see the one-part production, and various locations are making this easier within the next few weeks.
On Wednesday, August 31, Cursed Child San Francisco is offering a student matinee of the production. Tickets are $40, and the show will begin at 1 p.m. What student wouldn’t love a magical field trip? It could be a busy day for the Hogwarts Express.
Several thousand miles away from San Francisco, Cursed Child Melbourne will be hosting a special interpreted performance in collaboration with Auslan Stage Left. Through trained Auslan interpreters and consultants, Auslan Stage Left enables access to arts and entertainment for deaf people. This performance will be on Sunday, August 7, at 1 p.m., and tickets are available now.

We have to admit that it’s fascinating to hear from the actors of Cursed Child themselves. Gregory Prest, who plays Ron Weasley in Toronto’s production of Cursed Child, was recently featured on The Morning Zoom on Zoomer Radio to weigh in on his experience. Prest discussed the initial intimidation of playing a character where people already have thoughts about how the character should be – including his own sister. He dove into the excitement and the process of becoming Ron and making over the Mirvish Theatre into the magical wonder that is Cursed Child. The host asked about the special effects in the production, and it’s interesting to hear Prest share the “conspiracy theories” the audience members have about the stunts.
