In the wake of last week’s enormous news about the upcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them film franchise, Warner Bros. also made another announcement: The company will serve as the global distributor for the upcoming BBC series based on J.K. Rowling’s novel The Casual Vacancy (except in the UK, of course).
All of us Potter fans were well aware of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them long before J.K. Rowling and Warner Brothers announced the new film franchise, but Thursday’s announcement has caused a huge spike in the rest of the world catching up! Google Trends has shown a massive change in the amount of users searching for the phrase “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” over the past few days.
In her own remarkable way, J.K. Rowling seems to have found one realm of her wizarding world that remains relatively untouched by the fan community. We scoured the internet to find fan fiction about the famous magizoologist and came up with only a few examples (although that’s sure to change over the next few months!).
We posted a few weeks ago about some of Matt Lewis’s charity endeavors, including his participation in the Great North Run on September 15 to benefit the Leeds Rugby Foundation, of which he is vice president. With his race now just a couple of days away, Matt has been interviewed by the Yorkshire Evening Post about his preparation for the race.

In the wake of this morning’s incredible news, MinaLima, the amazingly talented graphic design team who worked on the Harry Potter films, has announced on their Facebook page a new Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them print.
The theme park blog Behind the Thrills recently posted some new photos of the Diagon Alley expansion in which you can see some completed walls!
