A first edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone will go on display at the National Library of Scotland. The book was sold last year to a bidder for GBP150,000, which we reported, including some images of the annotations, which will now be displayed.
We previously reported that Booktrust, a charity in the UK that promotes reading, asked readers to pick their favorite children’s books from a selection of 100. “Philosopher’s Stone” was nominated in the ages 9-11 category. The results of the poll are now in!
In honor of Children’s Book Week, BookTrust is holding a poll where you can show your love and support for the series by voting for Sorcerer’s Stone. It is in the top 25 for the Best Books for 9-11-Year-Olds category.
An extremely rare signed first printing of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone sold today on eBay for an astonishing $10,602. The book is a 1st printing UK Bloomsbury softcover that was signed and dedicated by (a then unknown) J.K. Rowling in 1997.

Yesterday the Deathly Hallows 15th Anniversary cover was finally unveiled, and the press release from Scholastic also revealed that Kazu Kibuishi not only created seven beautiful covers for the front of each Harry Potter book, he also created new art for the books’ back covers!
