As two people who have both seen and read the play, we (Alison and Sophie) have a lot of thoughts about the experience. Overall, both of us are entirely infatuated with the show, though we do acknowledge its faults. Here, we hope to be able to explain the experience of experiencing this story in both of its forms and how we think that affects our take on it. WARNING: This piece contains major spoilers for the plot and set of “Cursed Child”.
Back at San Diego Comic-Con a couple of weekends ago, Eddie Redmayne (Newt Scamander) delighted the Hall H crowd by handing out Newt’s wand to everyone there. Well, it’s good news for those of us who want to get our hands on some “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” merchandise. It looks like we won’t have long to wait.
It’s been three days since the script book of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” was unleashed upon the world, and love it or hate it, you can’t deny one thing – the book’s tremendous selling power. This morning, Scholastic announced that sales within the first two days of release reached over 2 million copies.
