UPDATED: Confirmed: “Miracle Workers,” Starring Daniel Radcliffe, Is Returning for a Third Season

Fans of Miracle Workers, starring Daniel Radcliffe, have been anxiously awaiting news regarding the series’s renewal. Ever since its second season ended in March, there had been no confirmation of a third season. Well, we’re happy to tell you that the wait is finally over – and it’s good news.

After months of speculation, it has been confirmed that Miracle Workers will be returning for a third season. Even though its second season had a slight drop in viewership, it kept a steady million viewers per episode, making it TBS’s second-most-viewed show. This definitely counted in Miracle Workers‘ favor when it came to deciding whether to renew it or not, and we’re so glad we’re getting a third season.

As to what the story line for the third season will be, we can only guess. The first and second seasons’ plots did not follow on each other but were instead based on Simon Rich’s novel What in God’s Name and his short story Revolution, respectively. It would be safe to assume that the new season will once again follow a different story line with different characters but with the same cast. No announcements regarding the cast have been made yet, so it is possible that some new faces might be joining the show for its third season.

Radcliffe played the character of a low-level angel, Craig, in the first season of the show and then went on to portray the character of Prince Chauncley (who has a strange affinity for ducks) in the second season. Radcliffe once revealed in an interview that portraying the role of Chauncley was most certainly not an easy job.

It’s a very different role for me – I’ve never done anything this broad before. It’s very hard to find a grounded and subtle way of playing someone who dances with ducks.

Assuming that the next season will see Radcliffe embody a new character, it might be safe to say that his duck dancing days are over – for now, at least.

The new season of Miracle Workers is expected to air next year, but an exact date has not been set yet. We’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.

UPDATE (November 16):

A premise for the third season of Miracle Workers has now been revealed, and it’s going to be a hit with historians and video game enthusiasts alike!

According to Deadline, this season will see Daniel Radcliffe starring as a small-town preacher who heads across America following the Oregon Trail, teaming up with a wanted outlaw (Steve Buscemi) and a liberated prairie wife (Geraldine Viswanathan) along the way.

The Oregon Trail, which ran from Missouri to Oregon, was full of challenges for those who embarked on the journey, so we can expect the characters to face all kinds of trials and tribulations. But don’t worry – coheads of scripted original programming for TBS, TNT, and truTV Sam Linsky and Adrienne O’Riain promise that this season will be just as comedic as the previous two seasons:

We can’t wait to see how this incredibly dynamic cast and talented group of storytellers hilariously rewrite 19th[-]century history.

There’s still no release for the third season of Miracle Workers, but we can’t wait for it to hit our screens!

Growing up, I was a massive fan of Harry Potter and my love for the stories grew as I got older. It’s no surprise then that I love writing about all things Potter related. When I’m not writing about all the magic, you’ll find me reading (probably something Harry Potter related), listening to music, or writing some songs.
