Help Shine Some Light on the Lumos Global Virtual Gala

by Helena Everett · September 27, 2021

As you may be aware, Lumos is holding its first-ever live Global Virtual Gala on Saturday, October 2. The charity has now revealed new and exclusive T-shirts, merchandise, and a ticket bundle available to purchase.

The new and exclusive T-shirts have been designed afresh. The Lumos logo is a magical vision with a wand casting a spell that swirls through the golden lettering. The T-shirts are available in adult and children’s sizes ($27.99). Hoodies ($44.99) and tanks ($27.99) are also up for grabs. You could also purchase a rather special foil-embossed tee, which gives the Lumos logo a shimmering effect in the light, for $36.99. Other new merchandise includes a tote bag ($22.99), notebook ($27.99), and water bottle ($29.99). The new apparel and merch can be purchased via Represent on the Lumos website.

The ticket bundle costs $100/£75 and includes virtual access to the live event plus a limited-edition, long-sleeved navy-blue Lumos tee – exclusive to this bundle. Other ticket options are a family ticket (specifically for those gathering to watch the Gala on one device), which costs $50/£35, and an individual ticket, which is $20/£25. If you really want to go all out, then virtual table experience tickets are definitely for you, some of which also include a reception with a curated special guest. The new merch and all ticket options can be purchased on the Lumos website.

Alec Baldwin will host the virtual gala. Special guests joining him include Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley), Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood), Noma Dumezweni (Hermione Granger in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), Peter Bence (internationally acclaimed pianist known in the Wizarding World for his piano medley titled “Harry Potter and the Impossible Piano Performance“), and singer and Lumos ambassador Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

There will also be a very special appearance by J.K. Rowling herself during the event, with a global exclusive reading from The Tales of Beedle the Bard.

Give the video below a watch for more information on Lumos and the event itself.

J.K. Rowling founded Lumos in 2005, and its aims have always been to create a world where all children can grow up in safe and loving families.

The cause is incredibly worthwhile. If you buy any of the official merchandise or T-shirts, the charity would love for you to take a selfie holding or wearing it, share your photo on all of your social media platforms using the hashtag #ShineSomeLight, and tag that special someone who brings light into your life.

Fight the #DarkArts and #ShineSomeLight with @jasonsfolly! Every purchase helps #Lumos support an est. 5.4 million children living in orphanages around the world. Your support makes a real difference to children’s lives! Get your merch at: https://t.co/oWdtyzSQGS pic.twitter.com/SmOib6UCyG

The gala begins at 3:30 p.m. EDT/8:30 p.m. BST, and everyone is invited. Will you be “shining some light” by attending the Lumos Global Virtual Gala? Or purchasing any of the new merchandise?
