Harry Potter Book Night Returns for Eighth Magical Year

After last year’s celebrations were moved to June due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, Harry Potter Book Night 2022 returned to its usual early February timing on February 3. The annual event from publisher Bloomsbury also marked the start of the Miles of Magic Reading Challenge for children.

Around the world, Harry Potter fans young and old celebrated Harry Potter Book Night both online and in person, following the theme of Magical Journeys. Events held in Argentina and Spain illustrate Harry Potter Book Night’s reach beyond the United Kingdom.

England had no shortage of celebrations, including one in Merseyside at St Helens Library at the World of Glass. Another library, this one in Cheshire, hosted an online quiz. Schools also joined in on the fun during the day, including the Blue Coat School, a day school in the West Midlands.
