MinaLima Teases Brazilian Ministry of Magic Insignia as “Secrets of Dumbledore” Receives Premieres

by Mary Wojcicki · April 5, 2022

With the excitement of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore from London to Kansas City and beyond, there’s no shortage of exciting happenings in the real world alongside the latest Fantastic Beasts film.

One of the countries given a spotlight in Secrets of Dumbledore is Brazil, and character Vicência Santos (played by Brazilian actress Maria Fernanda Cândido) isn’t the only connection to Brazil in the Fantastic Beasts franchise. Eduardo Lima, one-half of graphic design duo MinaLima, is also Brazilian.

In fact, Lima showed off the insignia of the Brazilian Ministry of Magic (or Ministério da Magia dos Estados Unidos do Brasil in Portuguese) on MinaLima’s Twitter account ahead of the Brazilian premiere of Secrets of Dumbledore. Lima posed with the banner and provided some close-up shots of the details of the insignia, including gems and feathers in yellow, green, and blue.

It was a proud moment to create the insignia for the Ministério da Magia dos Estados Unidos do Brasil for The #SecretsOfDumbledore months ago, it is an even prouder moment to come to Brazil this week for the film’s premiere and see them on screen with all my fellow Brazilians! pic.twitter.com/pN5TkNXxHz

Another banner, encouraging the public to vote for Vicência Santos, can be seen in the post.

Cândido was also present at the Brazilian premiere of Secrets of Dumbledore and was photographed with Lima, as shown in an Instagram video posted by @hpbrazil and filmed by @cacocardassi.

On the other side of the world, in his home country of Denmark, Mads Mikkelsen (Gellert Grindelwald) recently attended the Danish premiere of Secrets of Dumbledore.
