“Return to Hogwarts” and “Hogwarts Tournament of Houses” Nominated for 2022 HCA TV Awards

It’s that time of year again, folks: The Hollywood Critics Association has finally revealed its 2022 TV award nominations, and several Harry Potter alumni star in some of the nominated shows and films. We’re so proud.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses has been nominated for Best Cable Reality Show or Competition Series, and Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts has been nominated for Best Streaming Variety Sketch Series, Talk Series, or Special. Meanwhile, Gary Oldman (Sirius Black) has been nominated for Best Actor in a Streaming Series, Drama for his portrayal of Jackson Lamb in Slow Horses.

Miracle Workers: Oregon Trail has become one of our favorite shows, thanks to the hilarious story line and the amazing actors (including Daniel Radcliffe). And it’s making quite the splash this year with several nominations, including Best Writing in a Broadcast Network or Cable Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Movie; Best Directing in a Broadcast Network or Cable Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Movie; and Best Broadcast Network or Cable Limited or Anthology Series. To top it off, Daniel Radcliffe is also nominated for Best Actor in a Broadcast Network or Cable Limited Series, Anthology Series, or TV Movie for his work on the show. We bet Miracle Workers will take home a few (if not all) of the awards it’s been nominated for.

Servant, which most Potterheads love to watch because they get to see Rupert Grint do his thing, has been nominated for Best Directing in a Streaming Series, Drama. Stranger Things, which features Jamie Campbell Bower, who portrays young Gellert Grindelwald in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1, has also been nominated not once but twice in this category. Stranger Things also got nominations for Best Writing in a Streaming Series, Drama and Best Streaming Series, Drama.

Those who watch Peacemaker on HBO Max know that Freddie Stroma (Cormac McLaggen) stars on the show as Adrian Chase. The hilarious moments on Peacemaker are one of the reasons we love it so much, so it’s no surprise that it’s nominated for Best Writing in a Streaming Series, Comedy.

Last, but not least, Kimi, which stars Zoë Kravitz (Leta Lestrange in the Fantastic Beasts franchise), has been nominated for Best Streaming Movie, and Loki, starring Wunmi Mosaku (Beryl in Fantastic Beasts), has been nominated for Best Writing in a Streaming Series, Drama; Best Directing in a Streaming Series, Drama; and Best Streaming Series, Drama.

We’re looking forward to seeing how these shows fare during the awards ceremony, and of course, we’ll keep you up to date on the winners.

Growing up, I was a massive fan of Harry Potter and my love for the stories grew as I got older. It’s no surprise then that I love writing about all things Potter related. When I’m not writing about all the magic, you’ll find me reading (probably something Harry Potter related), listening to music, or writing some songs.
