J.K. Rowling has officially endorsed Euan’s Guide, a brand new website set up by Euan, who suffers from Motor Neurone Disease, and his sister Kiki. As seen in the picture above, Jo attended the official launch of the site, which took place at the Scottish Parliament this week. The site is a “directory on disabled access that we were keen to share with others with accessibility needs.”
Last week, author J.K. Rowling released Part 1 of her special Quidditch World Cup segment on Pottermore as part of a reward for her request of fans to to show support using the hashtag #wizards4scotlandrugby on Twitter. Today, she has released Part 2. The first part of the new content provided historical background on the fictional Quidditch World Cup tournament with some memorable (and NOT so memorable) moments from the past championships.

It comes as no surprise that J.K. Rowling made the list of most popular authors among children in the UK. The same research group released findings earlier this year showing that six of the seven Harry Potter books ranked as favorites among UK children. Will J.K. Rowling continue to be one of the most read authors among children for years to come?
Woman’s World reports that in a survey of UK freelancers, J.K. Rowling took in a considerable chunk of votes in the Crunch Accounting research. The poll was taken in honor of International Women’s Day, which takes place early this month. With these results, maybe we should now be looking toward her for advice on entrepreneurial ventures in addition to creating the perfect villain in a novel.
The evidence is ever-growing that the Harry Potter series has become a steadfast classic among children’s literature, as most recently proven in this most recent survey.

It’s been over a year since it was announced that The Casual Vacancy would be adapted into a television miniseries by the BBC, and since then, little else has been revealed. However we’ve managed to spot a tidbit of news about the series concerning its screenwriter. It may only be a tiny snippet of information – but it does appear to be a minor slip up from the BBC.
