It comes as no surprise that J.K. Rowling made the list of most popular authors among children in the UK. The same research group released findings earlier this year showing that six of the seven Harry Potter books ranked as favorites among UK children. Will J.K. Rowling continue to be one of the most read authors among children for years to come?

Woman’s World reports that in a survey of UK freelancers, J.K. Rowling took in a considerable chunk of votes in the Crunch Accounting research. The poll was taken in honor of International Women’s Day, which takes place early this month. With these results, maybe we should now be looking toward her for advice on entrepreneurial ventures in addition to creating the perfect villain in a novel.

Screenwriter for upcoming “Casual Vacancy” BBC series will be veteran television writer Sarah Phelps

It’s been over a year since it was announced that The Casual Vacancy would be adapted into a television miniseries by the BBC, and since then, little else has been revealed. However we’ve managed to spot a tidbit of news about the series concerning its screenwriter. It may only be a tiny snippet of information – but it does appear to be a minor slip up from the BBC.
