A recent list of the 100 Most Valuable Movie Stars Today was released by Vulture.com, and Daniel Radcliffe – who portrayed the title character in all eight of the Harry Potter movies – came in at #14.
The list is based on a new proprietary algorithm that weighs such factors as box office, media coverage, reviews, and a Hollywood value dictated by a tribunal of studio execs.
Daniel Radcliffe was thrust into instant stardom when he was cast as the title character of the Harry Potter film franchise, a franchise that has gone on to become the most successful franchise in box office history. Today, the star of the film series turns 23 years old.
We have and will continue to see Dan rise and challenge himself in a large variety of roles both in films and on-stage productions. With incredible acting talent and a tremendous personality, the sky is the limit for the long time Harry Potter star.

Today marks the five-year anniversary of the release of Deathly Hallows. It’s hard to imagine that so much time has passed since the final book dropped. This week’s Quibble is inspired by our Alohomora! podcast, and defends the choices of the Sorting Hat. In this article, the author addresses some of the series’ characters with seemingly contrasting characteristics to the ideals of their House, such as Hermione, Pettigrew, and Zacharias Smith, arguing that the process is not as simple as we think:
We’re oversimplifying complex memories and emotions of characters to try and fit them into molds that each house supposedly has. That’s dangerous and kind of takes away from the person don’t you think? We’re breaking people down to fit into categories that have only a few words to describe it. We’re taking away from their humanity that Rowling worked so hard to build.

While at Ascendio 2012, I was privileged to see Part 1 of a new fan made video by Adam VillaSenor entitled Sirius Black and the Secret Keeper.
“‘Sirius Black and the Secret Keeper’ is an expansion of JK Rowling’s backstory in the Harry Potter Book Series & Universe set during the first wizarding war,” stated director and writer Adam.
According to the Huffington Post, actress Dame Maggie Smith – who portrayed Professor Minerva McGonagall in the Harry Potter film series – has been nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress with her work in the PBS Masterpiece series Downton Abbey.
