Social Media Roundup: If Percy Weasley Can Do It…

by Lucy O'Shea · May 2, 2021

Welcome back to another edition of MuggleNet’s Social Media Roundup! Get ready to catch up with some of your favorite Wizarding World stars as they celebrate Earth Day, share throwbacks, hit the golf course, and get vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Earth Day is held every year on April 22 and is all about protecting our planet and combatting the environmental crisis. Bonnie Wright shared a video to her Instagram talking about some of the actions she has been taking offline to help the planet.

Also using their social media presence to raise awareness was David Bradley (Argus Filch). Bradley celebrated International Guide Dog Day on April 28 by sharing an adorable video of a guide dog’s first year of training with their volunteer.

Love this animation from @guidedogs following puppy Flash and her volunteer puppy raiser in their first year as part of their 90th Anniversary celebrations. Enjoy folks! https://t.co/0wFpd3Iz4S

There was lots of looking back over the past two weeks, with a number of Wizarding World stars sharing throwbacks. Tom Felton shared a scene from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

Even the Melbourne production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was in a throwback mood. In honor of International Dance Day, the account shared a video of clips of the “wand dance” from around the world.

Chris Rankin (Percy Weasley) received his first dose of the Pfizer vaccine and shared his experience of the shot and its side effects in an effort to encourage his followers to also get their vaccinations.

I had my Pfizer vaccine on Wednesday. The next day felt a bit sluggish and arm felt bruised. That’s basically it.

The whole process was cheerful, quick and easy. In and out in 25mins. Including having to sit nicely for 15mins after the jab to ensure no reaction. Easy 💪💉

Even Sean Biggerstaff (Oliver Wood) had something to say about it!

See? If even a drip like Percy can do it, you’ll be fine! https://t.co/3JxGCYo11d

With not long to go until her debut novel’s release, Jessie Cave (Lavender Brown) shared an image of Sunset, which will be published on June 24.

And finally, is Matthew Lewis really a wizard? Some might say that it’s a coincidence, but the power of his DIY skills over the soccer scores speaks for itself.

I moved house last year and I finally got round to painting my front door from red to black before the Chelsea game. Unbeaten since…
