One Song for Each Weasley Sibling That Perfectly Describes Them

by Sana Nawaz · April 22, 2022

We all love the Weasley siblings – some of them more than others – but no one can underestimate the power, charm, and uniqueness each of them possesses. To honor the seven wonderful Weasleys, we gave all of them one Muggle song that we think describes them the best. You might even get a hint about the genres they enjoy listening to from this list. After all, the Weasleys simply love all things Muggle!

1. Ginny Weasley – “Confident” by Demi Lovato

This one was easy. No one can fight Ginny. This song just defines her. She is cool, classy, and… confident.

It’s time for me to take it,
I’m the boss right now
Not gonna fake it,
Not when you go down
‘Cause this is my game,
And you better come to play

2. Fred Weasley – “Royals” by Lorde

Fred is a true jokester who is energetic, kind, and witty, and this song is perfect for him. He goes on to become a co-founder of Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes and concocts the most bizarre joke products – not something most people would dream of. And even though he makes a nice living from his business, he is not the kind to wear diamond rings or silk daily. He wants to be a king, but not the typical kind.

And we’ll never be royals,
It don’t run in our blood
That kind of luxe just ain’t for us
We crave a different kind of buzz
Let me be your ruler,
You can call me queen bee
And baby, I’ll rule,
Let me live that fantasy

3. Percy Weasley – “Whatever It Takes” by Imagine Dragons

Blinded by his position and faith in the system, Percy went against his parents’ wishes to pursue his goals. This song expresses his inner thoughts and gives a good impression of his personality.

Hypocritical, egotistical
Don’t wanna be the parenthetical, hypothetical
Working onto something that I’m proud of, out of the box
An epoxy to the world and the vision we’ve lost
I’m an apostrophe
I’m just a symbol to remind you that there’s more to see
I’m just a product of the system, a catastrophe

4. George Weasley – “Never Forget You” by Zara Larsson and MNEK

We all know how special George and Fred’s connection was. They were so close that if one of them began a sentence, the other would finish it. After Fred’s death, George was unable to produce a Patronus because all of his happy memories were shared with his twin. This song is sad, but it perfectly captures George’s personality, which quieted down from his prior jovial demeanor following Fred’s death. He carried a piece of Fred with him wherever he went.

I will never want much more
And in my heart, I will always be sure
I will never forget you
And you’ll always be by my side ’til the day I die

5. Charles “Charlie” Weasley – “Fireflies” by Owl City

Charlie lives in Romania and works with dragons, which are also his life’s passion. We like to imagine that beneath his great muscles lies a gentle and innocent young boy who dreams of training dragons and is constantly in awe of them. With its melody and reference to fireflies, this song seems to reflect this emotion, because dragons, like fireflies, light up his entire universe.

‘Cause I’d get a thousand hugs
From ten thousand lightning bugs
As they tried to teach me how to dance
A foxtrot above my head
A sock hop beneath my bed
A disco ball is just hanging by a thread

6. William “Bill” Weasley – “Unstoppable” by Sia

Bill isn’t just any handsome young man you spot on the road once in a blue moon. He’s also very courteous, intelligent, humble, and so confident in himself that he doesn’t even need to tell anyone about his accomplishments. It just shows. Even in the most difficult situations, he maintains his composure, always knows what to say, and goes out of his way to help others. He is the best eldest son and brother a person could ask for and is also an incredible husband, friend, and person. This song completely fits his description.

I’m unstoppable
I’m a Porsche with no brakes
I’m invincible
Yeah, I win every single game
I’m so powerful
I don’t need batteries to play
I’m so confident
Yeah, I’m unstoppable today

7. Ron Weasley – “King and Lionheart” by Of Monsters and Men

Despite his struggles with self-confidence and the belief that he is not good enough, Ron has always been strong and has overcome his fears more times than one can imagine. That’s not to mention his constant presence beside Harry! Ron is a true lionheart.  Period.

And in the sea that’s painted black,
Creatures lurk below the deck
But you’re a king and I’m a lionheart
And as the world comes to an end
I’ll be here to hold your hand
‘Cause you’re my king and I’m your lionheart
