For many years Warwick Davis – the actor who played Professor Flitwick and Griphook in the Harry Potter films – has been an advocate for dwarfism and helping children and families who have had similar troubles to his own. As a matter of fact, he co-founded the organization Little People UK.
Over this past weekend, the Western Cup of Muggle Quidditch was held at Maidu Park in Roseville, California. While seventeen teams from the region came to play only ONE team could call themselves the Western Regional Champion. But the good news is that six teams from the region have earned a spot during the Quidditch World Cup.
Dame Maggie Smith has been acting for 60 years after joining the stage at the age of 21 in the review New Faces of ’56 and became a regular performer at the Royal National Theatre during the 1960’s. But fans of Harry Potter will never forget her as the Head of Gryffindor House and Deputy Headmistress Professor Minerva McGonagall.
Fans lined up hours early to make sure they got a chance to meet James and Oliver, but everyone in the queue agreed it was worth the wait–and really, there’s no better way to spend a Saturday morning than by geeking out about Harry Potter! You can read the full report here.
