“We’ll Take the Lot”: New Chocolate Frog Card Features Famous Hufflepuff

Chocolate Frog card collectors have reason to celebrate with the recent release of a new wizard card. The beloved chocolate treats last made headlines in June with the introduction of a dark chocolate variety. This month, the iconic cards that accompany the candy are making the news.

Sweet and evasive, Chocolate Frogs hopped into the hearts of fans during Harry’s very first ride on the Hogwarts Express. Since then, the frogs and their collectible cards have played a significant role in the series, notably providing critical information on Nicolas Flamel via Dumbledore’s card description.

The new card, one of two that will be released in 2022, features famous Hufflepuff alumna Bridget Wenlock. The 13th-century witch is known for her research in the field of arithmancy and her theories on the magical properties of the number seven, as well as her penchant for guarding her work by writing her notes in invisible ink.

Wenlock’s card can be found at Sugarplum’s Sweetshop in Diagon Alley in boxes emblazoned with a special gold sticker, indicating a new collectible for 2022. Since being released on July 2, this card can only be found paired with frogs of the milk chocolate variety, according to a tip sent in by Tony Artym.

Chocolate Frogs are currently selling for $13 each, or three for $33. According to a master list of the cards, they can be purchased at Universal Orlando Resort, Universal Studios Hollywood, and Universal Studios Japan. Find them also at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter, the Harry Potter Shop at Platform 9 3/4, and Harry Potter New York.

Including Bridget Wenlock and the aforementioned Albus Dumbledore, there are a grand total of 18 witches and warlocks to be collected. Last year, we saw the introduction of the creator of Floo powder, Ignatia Wildsmith, and the Dark wizard responsible for the creation of the basilisk, Herpo the Foul. You can also collect cards featuring the likes of Artemisia Lufkin, Bertie Bott, Daisy Dodderidge, Devlin Whitehorn, Garrick Ollivander, Gilderoy Lockhart, Hengist of Woodcroft, Jocunda Sykes, Merlin, Paracelsus, and the four original founders of Hogwarts.
